Rationale: The Azusa Unified School District (“District”) is in the initial stages of considering the most effective and appropriate use of six (6) identified parcels of real property, including the sale or lease of excess property owned by the District. Pursuant to Education Code § 17388, et seq., the District’s Board of Education (“Board”) shall appoint a facilities advisory committee (“Committee”), also know as the 7-11 Committee, to advise the Board regarding the use or disposition of such surplus property. The Committee shall consist of not less than seven (7) nor more than eleven (11) members and shall be representative of the District community. This Resolution initiates the establishment of the Committee by authorizing the Superintendent to release and review applications for membership on the Committee that are submitted by members of the community.
