Rationale:
|
The SGV Co-Op is a group of independent school districts from Los Angeles County/San Gabriel Valley that have an agreement to purchase perishable and staple foods, supplies, and United States Department of Agriculture commodities in cooperative bidding for our mutual benefit via Invitation for Bid and/or Request for Proposal. Being a member of the SGV Co-Op allows AUSD Nutrition Services to follow the general procurement regulations in 2 Code of Federal Regulations, Section 200.318-200.326. It also allows AUSD Nutrition Services to take advantage of discounts, rebates, and the advantage of purchasing power the Co-Op has to obtain the better food pricing. AUSD Nutrition Services has participated in SGV Co-Op since August 2017. Contracts for the 2024-2025 school year have been awarded as follows:
Bread - Goldstar Foods & Galassos
Dairy - Driftwood Dairy
Produce – Gold Star Foods & Valley Produce
Paper – Imperial Dade
Frozen Distribution and Staples - Gold Star Foods
