Rationale:
|
AUSD is a member of the thirty district San Gabriel Valley Cooperative Purchasing group. Every district within the group is responsible for annually rotating duties and soliciting Requests for Proposals for food service products. As a result, on March 2, 2023, AUSD solicited proposals for Fresh Bread Products (Bid Number 22-23-01-01) on behalf of the 30-member districts. The proposal due date was April 12, 2023. We received two responses, Gold Star Foods and Galasso's Bakery. After reviewing all documentation, Gold Star Foods scored 43/50 points and Galasso's Bakery scored 42/50 points.
The San Gabriel Valley Purchasing Cooperative met on April 14, 2023, and voted to award the Fresh Bread contract to Gold Star Foods with Galasso’s Bakery as the secondary vendor. The contract period is July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.
Cost will be determined by products purchased by each member district. The Co-Op is contracting with both vendors based on negotiating pricing and giving member districts the option to use one or the other vendor.
