Rationale: GMS 7th and 8th grade students will have the opportunity to participate in a trip to Washington, D.C., with EF Tours from March 31 - April 4, 2025. The visit is aligned with the California History Social Science Standards and gives students first hand experience of American history. The trip will be supervised by GMS teachers and parents. This is the first year AUSD will be working with EF Tours. Board of Education approval is required as the trip includes overnight travel.
Budgetary Impact: The cost, not to exceed $2794 per student, to be paid from donations, fundraisers, and Parent Teacher Organization.
Recommendation: It is recommended the Board of Education approve GMS field trip to Washington, D.C.
