Rationale: On March 17th, three AUSD classrooms participated in the Superbowl Champion Los Angeles Ram’s “Fuel Up to Play 60 - Fuel Your School Innovation Challenge.” Mr. Hartman’s class from Paramount, Ms. Coulter-Brown’s class from Powell, and Ms. Trujillo’s class from Lee were invited to join the LA Rams and the Greater LA Education Foundation for a project-based learning opportunity. Each class developed an idea to improve access to healthy eating and physical activity at their school. Projects included a sustainability component and budget. During a 2-hour virtual event, each classroom team had an opportunity to refine their idea with expert mentors, then pitch their idea to a panel of expert judges for a chance to receive grant funding for their project to take back to their school. All three schools will receive grant funding for their projects:

Team Powell: $2,500
Team Lee: $3,500
Team Paramount: $4,500 “Touchdown” Grand Prize
