Rationale:
|
The ESGV SELPA is required to establish and maintain a community advisory committee in keeping with Article 7, Education Code Sections 56190-56194 pertaining to the requirements of Senate Bill 1870 and the implementation of the Master Plan for Special Education. The committee is comprised of parents of children with exceptional needs, parents of other children, general education teachers, special education teachers, other certificated school personnel, and representatives of agencies and persons concerned with the needs of exceptional students. For the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 school years, Tavia L. Lawson and Marine Harper will serve as the AUSD ESGV SELPA CAC parent representatives, and Leslie Castellanos will serve as the alternate. AUSD has been participating in the ESGV SELPA CAC since 2013.
