Rationale:
|
Some of the District’s heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment is at or is near its energy-efficient life. A full central plant feasibility study is needed to determine the remaining life of existing equipment and correct energy deficiencies. The District issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) in March 2022, for the energy service project development and implementation of Board approved ESSER III expenditure plan related to infrastructure and energy conservation project. Four responses were received, reviewed, and ranked based on the noted ranking criteria listed in the RFP. The response receiving the highest ranking was Willdan Energy Solutions.
Upon Board approval, Willdan Energy Solutions will complete a central plant feasibility study for the entire district which will cover HVAC, windows, and doors. Willdan’s goal is to combine cost savings, operational improvements, and infrastructure upgrades to provide facilities that meet the District's set energy savings goal and create uniformity throughout the District. The report will have a preliminary basis of the design concept, preliminary energy savings analysis, and one Design-Build proposal for the recommended solution.
