Rationale:
|
In February of 2025, the Azusa Unified School District’s (“District”) Board of Education (“Board”) approved the execution of a purchase and sale agreement (“Agreement”) for the sale of the District’s surplus real property located at 201 North Vernon Avenue, City of Azusa, known as the former Mountain View Elementary School site (“Property”), to Taylor Morrison of California, LLC (known as “Taylor Morrison”).
Now, Taylor Morrison is requesting the ability to demolish the obsolete school buildings located on the Property prior to closing escrow on the site. Due to backlogs at the City, Taylor Morrison is also requesting an extension of the Feasibility Review Period to June.
The First Amendment to the Purchase and Sale Agreement will amend the following terms of the Agreement:
1. The Buyer will be allowed to enter the Property and demolish the existing school buildings at its own cost.
2. The termination date of the Feasibility Review Period, as set forth in Section 2.2 of the Agreement, will be extended from May 20, 2025 to June 27, 2025.
