Rationale: On March 15, 2023, Nutrition Services Department released a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a comprehensive food safety and sanitation system. The scope of work includes eight service visits to each school during the school year, district in-service education, site-based training, and monitoring. In addition, the FSS certified technicians will monitor Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points program integrity and verification. The RFP specifications and conditions contain provisions to extend the contract for up to a total of three years, one year at a time, upon mutual agreement by both parties. The renewal term is from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025. AUSD has been partnering with FSS since May 2023.
Budgetary Impact: The cost, not to exceed $39,000, to be paid from Cafeteria Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended the Board of Education approve contract between AUSD and FSS.
