Rationale:
|
Step Up Tutoring provides free one-on-one online tutoring for students in grades 3-6, and includes academic support in reading, writing, math acceleration, and homework help; as well as student mentorship which supports goal setting, emotional wellness and regulation, accountability, and relationship-building. Group events, projects, and office hours are also provided to keep students curious and engaged. Tutors meet with students 2-3 times per week and support students’ academic progress and emotional well-being, as well as provide engaging optional activities and enrichment opportunities such as coding and digital arts. Tutors have a college degree or degree in progress, undergo a background check, and participate in training.
