Rationale:
|
For the past 34 years, the District has proudly upheld a tradition of recognizing exceptional educators through its annual Teacher of the Year program. Each school site and department nominates one outstanding teacher who exemplifies excellence in education, commitment to student success, and dedication to the school community. These site and department honorees are then considered through a districtwide selection process to determine the District Teacher of the Year.
We are pleased to announce that Janet Short, of Murray Elementary School, has been selected as the 2024-2025 District Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Short will also represent our District as a candidate in the Los Angeles County regional Teacher of the Year selection process. A list of all the honorees is attached for recognition and celebration.
